I'm new to ultrasonic testing. I'm studying the first edition of this book and find I don't believe or understand some things that appear in it. With a magnifying glass I find in Fig 1-6 "e2>e2". Am I wrong in expecting a cube root to appear in equation 2.4? I'm having a difficult time deriving the answer in section 2.4. All this may seem trivial but it undermines the requisite faith a new person needs and greatly slows down learning. If a publication exists fo corrections, may I learn where? Thank you

The correct answer in Figure 1.6 should be e2>e1, not e2>e2. Equation 2.4 also seems to be incorrect; we will check and confirm the correct equation, and modify the book when the time is appropriate.

These are errors that were missed during editing. For the record, our book was proof-read by several people, including a university professor. Thanks for bring them to our attention; if and when we re-print, we will correct these errors.

I have both, the "Introduction" and the "Advanaces" in Phased Array, in addition to the spiral bound technical guide ... very good publications. I use these books several times per week!
