Post Subject: SUGGESTION: Flash Card User Files
I can see where the issue could come up where a person has many saved setup files and/or custom wedge parameters saved to the Flash Card or USB drive and end up losing them in the installation process. I realize the installation program wipes the drive structure out and starts clean, so there is no real way to keep the user area untouched.
I wonder if it would be much trouble to add something to the installer that would make a backup of the user folder section to a TEMP folder on computer, then after installation is complete, MOVE that folder to the proper directory on the FC/USB ... I simply back my stuff anyway, but this type of routine could save some people some headaches -- no telling how many did not back their stuff up then installed latest updates to find their saved stuff is gone :)
It may be a lot of coding ... just thinking.

Jeff,
I am going to discuss this with our software team to see if this is a solution. I know that you tend to back all of your file sup, but there may ben some who do not. I will post a note on this forum when we have some answers.
