Introduction
 |
Fiberscopes are flexible instruments that use a coherent fiber bundle to transmit an image back to the inspector's eye. A separate non-coherent fiber bundle is used for transferring the illumination from the light source to the inspection area.
Fiberscopes can also be attached to CCTV and digital imaging equipment so that movie or still images can be recorded for future reference or used in associated documentation. |
Main features
High resolution
Original Olympus high-performance optics technology, such as high-density glass fiber bundles, offers the world's highest level of fiberscopic resolution and bright, sharp images.
Tip angulation
The distal end can be bent in either two or four directions by handheld operation (except IF6PD4).
TF Tube with superior insertability
Most of our fiberscopes employ the patented TF (Tapered Flex) Tube. Ideal for insertion into multiple-bend pipes, the insertion tube flexibility changes continuously-being highly flexible at the tip and rigid at the control section. As a result, these fiberscopes can easily be passed through bends and elbows. At the same time, the gradually increase rigidity of tube as it approaches control section assures easier transmission of publishing/ twisting strength after the first bend. All scopes
featuring the TF Tube are marked with the logo shown below.
Interchangeable optical adaptors
Facilitate a wide variety of viewing angles and directions in just one scope (most models).
Variety of Lineup
Extensive scope lineup from 0.64mm diameter to 11.3mm diameter in various lengths to meet any type of inspection requirements.
Fully waterproof insertion section
Fully waterproof insertion section for underwater use. (Most models) Drip-proof control section.
Photo and video documentation
Video recording and photography are available by connecting a CCD camera or the Olympus digital camera.
Main Applications
Ideal for internal inspection of piping, machinery, structural members, etc. Highly flexible for versatility and multi-purpose applications.
For inspecting:
- Inside water supply/ drainage piping and plant piping
- Inside engines of vehicles, aircraft, etc
- Inside machines such as motors and boilers
- Inaccessible areas within steel towers, building, etc.
- Motion analysis of machines by connecting a high speed video camera.
